WEATHER REPORT; The temperature at 6:45 this morning when our collie and I started out on our short walk was 69 degrees.  Just over an hour later, it went down to 67, the low for the morning.  The high this afternoon was 74 degrees with a 17 mph wind blowing from the east.  There were scattered showers all around the county each of which lasted only a short time.  The sun came out after each shower and quickly dried the grass and streets. SPORTS PAGE: The Blue Jays played split squad games today and won both of them, 8-3 vs the Rays in Dunedin and 3-1 over the Pirates on the road. At bat for the Blue Jays vs the Rays: Bo Bichette SS was 0 for 2 with a walk, a run scored and a strikeout. .240. Reuben Tejada SS hit a single in one of his 2 times at bat. .200. Cavan Biggio 2B walked twice and scored a run. .200. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. DH went 0 for 3. .280. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 3B was 0 for 2 with a walk and a run scored. .261. Travis Bergen was credited with the last out of the game as he faced only one batter in the top of the 9th inning. 0.00. At bat for the Blue Jays vs the Pirates: Jonathan Davis CF was 0 for 3 with a strikeout. .182. Joe Panik 2B hit 2 singles in 3 times at bat. .444. Teoscar Hernandez DH went 0 for 1 with 2 walks. .200. Patrick Kivlehan 1B was 0 for 3 with a strikeout. .211. Santiago Espinal 3B hit a single in 1 of his 3 plate appearances. .316. Zeuch to Buffalo. Former Bisons in other games played this afternoon: For the Yankees: Geo Urshela 3B was 0 for 3, Josh Thole C went 0 for 1 plus a walk and Erik Kratz DH was 1 for 3 with an RBI. For the Marlins: Jon Berti CF walked in his only plate appearance. Five games in Arizona are not yet completed and 2 other games out west have yet to start. IN OTHER NEWS: Congratulations to several Bisons staff persons who have been given new titles with more responsibilities: Anthony Sprague, General Manager, Brad Bisbing, Assistant General Manager, Geof Lundquist, Director of Sales, Theresa Cerabone, Merchandise Manager for Rich Baseball Operations and Chas Fiscella, Head Accountant for Rich Baseball Operations. TRIVIA ANSWERS: 1. Reese McGuire has recorded 38 hits in his first 44 Major League contests, the most ever by a Blue Jays catcher. 2. Willie Wells was the first player in baseball history to wear a batting helmet as a Newark Eagle in a 1936 Negro League game. BACK PAGE:  Tomorrow, I get to be a judge in a different kind of sport!  I will be one of several adults to judge the Brevard County School District Science Fair championships.  Every entry won first place in their local school and are now competing to go on to the State finals which include financial and scholarship awards.
