Hello Bisons Booster Club members, family and friends,

This is your Booster Club First Vice-President reporting from West Melbourne, Florida. TRIVIA QUESTIONS: 1. What Blue Jays record did Jacob Waguespack tie during the 2019 season? 2. Which shortstops hold league records for the fewest hits in a season after playing at least 150 games that season? Answers below. WEATHER REPORT: The temperature at 6:57 AM today when my collie and I started out on our short walk was 60 degrees with a 2 mph wind out of the east under mostly clear skies brightened again by the super moon.  The afternoon high for the day was 80 degrees at 4:00 PM with a 13 mph wind still out of the east under mostly clear skies, but with occasional dark clouds that drop a short, gentle rain in the surrounding area. SPORTS PAGE: The Blue Jays played at home in Dunedin today and enjoyed quite a victory, defeating the Orioles, 14-2. At bat for Toronto: Bo Bichette SS in 3 trips to the plate hit his first double of the spring and his 3rd home run while striking out once. .286. Santiago Espinal PH-SS went 2 for 2 with a single and his 3rd home run driving in 2 runs. He also committed his 3rd error. .409. Jonathan Davis CF hit his second double of the spring, walked once and scored 2 runs. .231. On the mound: Thomas Pannone faced one batter in the 4th inning and got him out. 3.60. A. J. Cole pitched an inning, allowed a hit and struck out one batter. 0.00. Ryan Dull closed the 9th inning walking one batter. 18.90 Former Bisons in other games played today: For the Nationals: Asdrubal Cabrera 3B was 0 for 3. For the Astros: Roberto Osuna pitched an inning striking out 1 batter. For the Yankees: Gio Urshela 3B went 1 for 3 with a run scored. For the Cardinals: Brett Cecil pitched 1/3 of an inning, allowing one hit and striking out the other batter. For the Mets: Jeurys Familia pitched the 6th inning, striking out one batter and walking one batter. Today's games between the Royals and the Indians, the White Sox and the Rockies and the Athletics and the Angels in Arizona were canceled.  Three night games are being played out in Arizona, so I have no information from those teams. IN OTHER NEWS: At our Homeowners Association meeting last night, our County Sheriff was the guest speaker.  He brought along his 150 pound bloodhound dog who has been trained to search for lost children and lost senior citizens.  Also, when police have to interview children and the children are nervous, they are allowed to sit with the bloodhound until they become calm enough to meet with a uniformed police officer.  Because the dog is so gentle, he was allowed to wander through the meeting room during the 45 minutes that the sheriff talked.  When the dog got to me, I started scratching him as I do our collie.  After a few minutes, I stopped thinking he might want to visit other people, but instead he gave me a nudge with his big head and sat even closer to me.  I ended up scratching for 25 minutes before he decided to visit other senior citizens in the room Although there have been no cases of the coronavirus in Brevard County, teachers in the District have met with students to help calm them about the possible spread of the virus and to show them how to wash their hands or use hand sanitizers.  Additional supplies of liquid soap and hand lotions are being provided in every classroom and students are being advised not to shank hands with other students or faculty.  The District is hoping we can make it through 2 more school days before the spring break which lasts for students until March 24.  The hope is that the virus crisis will be over by that date.  In the meantime, the District has canceled all field trips that require flying out of the area. Early voting has begun in Florida and all poling places are being wiped down with disinfectant every hour. TRIVIA ANSWERS: 1. Last year, Jacob Waguespack tied a Blue Jays team record held by 5 other pitchers with starts of 6+ innings pitched and no runs allowed within his first 16 Major League starts. 2. Dal Maxvill played 152 games for the Cardinals in 1970.  That year he collected just 80 hits with merely seven for extra bases to finish with a .201 batting average.  Playing for the Washington Senators in 1965, Eddie Brinkman got just 82 hits in 154 games and hit just for a .185 average. BACK PAGE: As indicated above, I am back to school on Thursday for another regular day. Charlie Greene, First Vice-President, Buffalo Bisons Booster Club
